Emeritus Board Directors:

There will be occasion for certain esteemed past Directors to move from active involvement with the Good Samaritan Shelter. Those Directors who have displayed special value and commitment to the Shelter will be considered for a non-active position as Emeritus Board Director. All Emeritus Board Directors are non-voting members on all matters.

Rev. Frank L. Lamson - Pastor Frank was a founding board member of GSS, and served in almost every capacity on the board for the next nine years. He was a crucial proponent for the growth of the shelter, and we wouldn't be the organization we are today without his support.

Jim McKeighan - Jim once served as the vice-chairman of the board. He was instrumental in helping the shelter purchase our first building, with generous support from New Century Bank.

The Staff of the Shelter:

Nate Hoffer, Executive Director - nate@goodsamshelter.org  - Nate has been with GSS since 2009 as the Executive Director. Prior to joining GSS Nate served in leadership roles for non-profits in Washington, D.C. and Kingston, Jamaica. Nate earned his B.S. in Business Administration from Eastern Mennonite University and his MBA from Eastern University.

Timothy O. Barr, Director of Resident Services, Phoenixville - tim@goodsamshelter.org - Tim is one of the founding board members of the Shelter, and become a staff member in December 2006. He completed two years at Cheyney University. Prior to joining GSS he had three years experience as a case manager at Family Matters.

Matt McNeil, Resident Advocate, Phoenixville - matt@goodsamshelter.org  - Matt graduated from Lehigh University in 2011 with a degree in Psychology and Math and has worked at the shelter since 2011.

Rev. Maryann Ronan-Lamson, Case Manager, Ephrata - marl5785@gmail.com  - Maryann has been with our Ephrata Program since April of 2011 as Case Manager. She is also an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ and a pastor in Montgomery County. She has a MA from Emmanuel College in Boston and an M.Div from Episcopal Divinity School in Cambridge MA.

Kathryn Maleney, Grant Writer - kathryn@goodsamshelter.org - While not involved with the day to day running of the shelter, Kathryn has a great deal of experience helping small non-profits succeed. She worked for nine years at Face to Face in Germantown, and there developed a clear sense of how a non-profit in human services can track its outcomes and communicate its success to funders and supporters. Kathryn holds a BA in humanities from Marlboro College.

Dan Lamson, Development Assistant - dan@goodsamshelter.org - Dan has been with GSS since 2009, first as the administrative assistant and then as the development assistant. Dan graduated of Ursinus College with a B.A. in political science, and has been involved as a volunteer in the work of the Good Samaritan Shelter from his youth.

All Staff are CPR and First Aid certified. Training and development opportunities are offered to the staff throughout the year. House Managers live in each home to ensure a smooth and effective operation. We have volunteer interns who support the work of the staff. These interns are typically Social Work majors from Valley Forge Christian College, Eastern University and Lancaster Bible College. If you are interested in interning at Good Samaritan Shelter, please contact nate@goodsamshelter.org.
